China has created the most powerful hydrogen locomotive in the world

China's first hydrogen locomotive converted from an internal combustion engine was put into service on Thursday in Datong, Shaanxi Province, CGTN reports.

China's CRRC Corporation, the country's largest manufacturer of railway vehicles and equipment, has announced that the Ningdong locomotive is currently the world's most powerful hydrogen-powered locomotive.

According to the chairman of the CRRC Datun subsidiary, the locomotive has a maximum hydrogen reserve of 270 kg. It can work continuously for 190 hours.
